Lets see what they have to say as many of us are just guessing until we know more. If they are concerned about fraud and other stuff possibly they have every right to keep it open/froozen while it is investigated if it is regarding tax returns, income etc than they certainly should be able close it. You should be able to close the account, unless funds are owed, etc. I would do what above, Certified mail return receipt. However if just requesting Tax Info, ID, Income info, etc.Īccount should be able to be closed by card owner. If related to fraud, unknown pending transactions, etc.Īccount could be locked pending outcome of an investigation. Obviously they are not going to let someone make any change until they you know unlock the account. I think this is the highly relevant question, they locked the account on what grounds? She just wanted me to make payments.Kida documentation did they request? was it tax information / income information or something else of proof of identity etc? She couldn't tell me anything about the credit score aspect of it since she's "not in charge" of that. I finally got her to agree to call back tomorrow to work out payment. It just seemed like she was trying to scare me into paying ASAP. and if I hang up and not make payment arrangements she would mark off my account as "refusal to pay". I asked her if I could call back later to talk about payment arrangements and she said she can't guarantee if my account would not be passed off to collections within the next day and I need to make some kind of payment arrangement. I explained my situation but the lady I was talking to just kept pushing me to make payment arrangements or they're going to pass my account to an outside party (collections). I really need some guidance with how to deal with this, any kind of help would be appreciated.ĮDIT: I called Comenity Bank which is the bank that issues the VS card. I don't have the receipts for that transaction, but is it possible there was a mistake with the cashier? I know I have some fault to this since I didn't check up with it after, but I don't understand about the returned items part. Is there a way for Victoria Secret to clear all of this and restore my credit? I'm also scared because my credit is totally fucked. I'm so confused with this whole situation. I'm a student and have only one credit card with Discover which I pay in full on time and had a pretty good credit until this fuck up. I realized all of this after I decided to check my credit score and it's like 550 or something like that. and my parents thought it was just junk mail. So I assumed that I wouldn't have to worry about my VS card since I returned the items that were charged on the card.įast forward to now and I realized they didn't clear my account of the charges and passed me to collections and screwed up my credit.Īnd it looks like somehow only one of the items I returned were actually "returned" and that's why my account wasn't cleared.Īpparently they sent bills to my permanent home address which is the address of my parents and the address I signed up with for the card but I was away for school so I never saw them. I returned both the items soon after because I wasn't happy with how they fit after I tried them on at home. Some time late last year (~November 2015) I was in Victoria Secret and I bought two items and I decided to sign up for their credit card with intentions to build up my credit (oh the irony.).
